Why I love bars

I ❤️❤️❤️ bars! Candy bars, rock bars, but especially soap bars . I didn't always, though. But as I grew in my knowledge of how to live with less environmental impact, these reasons changed my mind:⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

1. Bars don’t require plastic packaging. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Liquids don't NEED plastic packaging, but since glass is heavy and can't be dropped, most liquids are transported and sold in a plastic container. You can actually buy bar soaps without any packaging at all.

2. Bars have lower transportation cost.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
(Liquid is heavy and bulky and you have to pay more for them.)

3. Bars are economical.
For their size, they are concentrated and last a long time.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

4. There are bars for most of my cleaning needs
Did you know there are bars for specific purposes? There are bars for bathing, shampoo, face washing, dish washing, laundry stains, hand washing, shaving, lotion...⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

5. Bars don’t count against my liquids when flying. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
You can save your precious ounces for cocktails :)

6. Bars don’t leak in my luggage or gym bag.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
This happens to me with liquid ALL THE TIME.

7. Bars don’t require preservatives (like liquids).⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Water-based products require preservatives to inhibit the growth of bacteria. We're so accustomed to having preservatives in everything these days that you might not think it's a big deal. But... why introduce preservatives into your life if you don't need them?
